Welcome to Kids Night

Every Saturday night from 8:00pm EST till the kids give up the frequency, The Friendly Bunch does a segment we call "KIDS NIGHT".  During this time, we invite all licensed youngsters and any youngsters who have an interest in amateur radio (via third party traffic) to get on the air and participate in conversation with other youngsters or adults that are on frequency.  At this time, we will continue to ID every 10 minutes.  Any new stations for the first time will be acknowledged but we ask that you be patient and wait till the end of KIDS NIGHT and we return to normal operations.  Any station listening is welcome to converse with the youngsters.  We have a couple of licensed youngsters who moderate KIDS NIGHT.   They have control of the frequency, and we ask that all traffic be directed thru them.  They do an excellent job and are role models for the future of amateur radio.  The youngsters of today are the leaders of tomorrow and the future success of amateur radio relies on their interest and participation of the hobby.   

We offer a $20 gift card each month for the youngster that participates the most during that month.  In the event there is a tie, the winner will be selected via a random drawing.  To ensure that as many youngsters as possible can win, there is a three-month grace period before a winning youngster can win again.

We also offer a KIDS NIGHT t-shirt each month.   To be eligible for a t-shirt, a youngster only has to get on the air once during the month.  Getting on the air more than once will not change the chances of winning a t-shirt.  Once a youngster wins a t-shirt, they are no longer eligible to win again.   This also is to ensure as many youngsters as possible can win a t-shirt.  T-shirt supplies are very limited.  Future continuation of the t-shirts will be the decision of The Friendly Bunch Leadership.
